LIVING FOR THE KINGDOM IN OUR PERSONAL LIVES
LIVING FOR THE KINGDOM IN OUR PERSONAL LIVES
Have you ever heard the phrase "living for the Kingdom" and wondered what it really means for your everyday life? Sometimes, we can make these ideas sound complicated, but at its heart, it’s actually very simple.
Living for the Kingdom is about bringing a little piece of heaven down to earth in our own personal worlds. It’s about letting God’s way of doing things shape our thoughts, our choices at work, our attitudes at home, and how we treat the people around us.
But how do we actually do that? How do we get our messy, busy lives to line up with God?
I’ve learned that it comes down to a few basic, life-giving habits. It's about making time for things like prayer, reading the Bible, and sharing life with other believers. These simple practices help us get to know God better and figure out what He wants for our lives.
Think of it this way:
Prayer is simply talking with God. It isn't about using fancy words or getting everything right. It's about having an honest conversation with a Father who loves you. It’s where we can share what’s on our hearts and, just as importantly, quiet ourselves down to listen for His gentle guidance.
Reading the Bible is like reading a letter from someone you love. It's how we learn what God is truly like, not just what we think He’s like. It’s our roadmap that keeps us from getting lost, showing us the path He has for us and filling our hearts with His truth and promises.
Spending time with other believers—what the Bible calls fellowship—is so important because we were never meant to do this alone. It’s about having friends on the journey who can encourage you when you’re tired, celebrate with you when things go well, and gently help you get back on track when you stumble.
These things aren't just a religious to-do list. They aren't rules you have to follow to make God happy. They are simple, powerful ways to build a real friendship with Him. And as we do them, something amazing happens: He starts to change us from the inside out, and our lives begin to look more and more like the loving, joyful, and peaceful Kingdom He promises.
To help you on this journey, we have created a collection of booklets designed to explore these very topics on a personal level. These can be found in the Resources section of the site.
