LIVING FOR THE KINGDOM IN THE CHURCH
LIVING FOR THE KINGDOM IN THE CHURCH
We were designed for connection and for a shared purpose. That’s why, when we talk about living a Kingdom life, we simply can't do it alone. It naturally leads us to the church.
And I’m not talking about the building, but the people—a living, breathing family. Think of the church as the Body of Christ on earth. And for a body to be healthy, every single part has to be connected and working.
This is why Kingdom living is expressed through active participation in a local community of believers. A hand isn’t really a hand if it’s sitting on a shelf by itself; it finds its purpose when it’s connected to the arm. In the same way, our faith truly comes alive when we jump in and become an active part of a local church family. It’s where we belong.
But it’s not just about showing up. Every part of a body has a special job to do. This is why it's so important that we are using one's spiritual gifts to build up the body of Christ. Maybe you have hands that are gifted at serving, or a heart that overflows with mercy. Maybe you have a voice that brings encouragement, or ears that are great at listening. Those aren't just personality traits; they are God-given gifts meant to strengthen the whole family. You have a role to play that no one else can.
And here’s the most beautiful part. When every person is connected, participating, and using their unique gifts to build each other up, something incredible happens. Together, we collectively bear witness to the kingdom.
The world doesn't just see a random collection of people. They see one body, moving in harmony, showing them what the love and grace of Jesus look like in real life. Our shared life becomes a powerful story, telling everyone around us that there’s a better way to live—a Kingdom way.
So being part of a church isn't about fulfilling an obligation. It's about finding your vital place in God's family, using your gifts to make it stronger, and together, showing the world the beautiful reality of our King.
To help you on this journey, we have created a collection of materials designed to explore these very topics on a personal level. These can be found in the Resources and Outreach sections of the site.
